Today is Saturday, and this marks the launch of our Person-of-Mystery™ contest, where I post a picture and you have to try and figure out who it is. I thought about starting easy, but figured that wouldn't be right and instead give you a relative unknown figure. Good luck!
Non-evil Nate Mass
ReplyDeleteIs dat boy Nate's Daddy?
ReplyDeleteSheila, thanks for your submission, but it is not me. Keep up the good work. I'm sure a correct answer is not beyond your grasp!
ReplyDeleteDoes spelling count, Sheila? In which case I'd guess Nate Maas.
ReplyDeleteCharity, thanks for your submission. It is not my father, (AKA My Best Friend). Although this person would not be far removed age wise.
ReplyDeleteJudi, although I'm a teacher, I'm okay with misspellings on this site. It's still not me. Thanks for playing. Feel free to guess again, anytime.
ReplyDeleteOh, PJM, PJM, where are you?
ReplyDeletePJM aint goin to be playin. You done made him real mad.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to guess PJM.
ReplyDeleteSheila, it is not PJM. Besides, imaginary people do not show up in photos. Keep up the good work! I'm certain correct answer is not far off.
ReplyDeleteI think I might need to talk to my family about what we should have for breakfast tomorrow. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteNote: I'll be away from my computer for 10 minutes. I have to pick up my oldest son at the pool.
ReplyDeleteStanley McChrystal
ReplyDeleteJim, nice to see you. Good guess, but it is not Gen. McChrystal. I'm impressed at your deductive skill. Probably useful when fighting Super Villains too.
ReplyDeleteGeneral Petraeus?
ReplyDeleteCarla, thanks for your guess, but it is not Gen. Petraeus either. Although, you guys are correct, he was a member of the military.
ReplyDeleteOliver North?
ReplyDeleteCarla, it is not Oliver North. Today's Person-of-Mystery is no longer living. Thanks for the good guess!
ReplyDeleteDavid Dolby?
ReplyDeleteCharity. Nice to see you are still playing. Unfortunately, it is not David Dolby. The game remains afoot.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. It looks like a cadet uniform or ROTC; the hair cut looks early 60s. Not Pat Tillman.
ReplyDeleteCarla, couldn't tell if that was a guess or not, but Pat Tillman he is not. Keep guessing!
ReplyDeleteNo, Tillman wasn't really a guess, just thinking with the keyboard...
ReplyDeleteJohn O'Neill?
I like your thinking. Famous people and MOH recipients will get you there. It is not John O'Neill. Today's Person-of-Mystery is a decorated veteran.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm headed to the roof to work on the trim, but I'll continue to check in from my phone.
ReplyDeleteMichael Murphy?
ReplyDeleteNick Bacon?
ReplyDeleteRobert L. Howard?
ReplyDeleteNeither Murphy or Bacon. Keep up the good sleuthing!
ReplyDeleteBut how bout Robert Howard?
ReplyDeleteFernando Garcia?
ReplyDeleteDan Truett McWhorter?
ReplyDeleteI lik dat utter boys contest better. He give answers more quickr
ReplyDeleteNo not Howard either. I'm not a big breakfast guy,, but maybe I'll learn to like them.
ReplyDeleteNo answers correct yet. Sorry for the delay, I'm on the roof as I write. Domestic duty.
ReplyDeletedat utter boy don go up roof in middl contest
ReplyDeleteI know. I had no control over the timing of that udder gus's escalation of our nemesis struggle.
ReplyDeleteDas not Joe Hooper now?
ReplyDeleteNot Hooper or any of dem McWhorters.
ReplyDeleteNor Garcia, but thank you for the guess.
ReplyDeleteDonald Ward Evans Jr.
ReplyDeleteWilliam, thanks for the guess, but it's not Evans.
ReplyDeleteRobert Mcnamara
ReplyDeleteHow about George Patton?
ReplyDeleteEd Freeman
ReplyDeleteNot McNamara, Patton, nor Freeman. Good guessing. Would it help if I told you there was debate over if he should get the Medal of Honor?
ReplyDeleteDonald Cook
ReplyDeleteAudie Murphy
ReplyDeletemebe I gots it dat time.
ReplyDeleteSorry Charity, neither Cook nor Murphy.
ReplyDeleteI never realized it before, but PJM must feel like Rumpelstiltskin each Saturday.
ReplyDeleteHey Nate. Nice blog! At least you gave us some hints. I think the person is the ex-unknown Vietnam soldier Michael Blassie.
ReplyDeleteGood Job, Rob. you got it again!
ReplyDeleteP
We have our first winner! Congrats, Rob!
ReplyDeleteYes, this is Michael Blassie, the former Unknown Soldier from the Vietnam Conflict. As some of you know, each Unknown Soldier is awarded the Medal of Honor. There was a bit of debate over whether Blassie should get the MOH, since it was given to him (in a way). In the end, his body was reinterred in Missouri and the MOH is on display at Arlington.
Nate, congratulations on the success of your first Person of Mystery Contest. I notice PJM did not appear...perhaps he was overwhelmed by the sheer number of comments.
ReplyDeleteCharity is a hoot! Is she real?
Hmmm...maybe PJM did show up here. The line between evil nemesis and supervillain is a subtle one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Flartus, I'm sure PJM is in his fortress/lair working on his next evil scheme. Seems like super villainy never rests. Then again, perhaps it's just better funded. Charity is a hoot. I've known her for some time now and is a close friend. She has a keen sense of humor. It was nice to have her turn up today to support the blog, as I remain grateful for the rest of you as well.
ReplyDeleteAs we're only on Day 3, I think the progress is coming along nicely. I think I finally got natemaas.com to redirect here correctly. I had forgotten I even had that domain until someone noticed it wasn't working. Glad I've finally found a use for it.
Ise not a hoot. Dat be my brudder in law. Only he spell his name wid a e, Silas Hoote
