Person-of-Mystery

Welcome to Cipher Saturday!  You've found the home of everyone's favorite weekend pastime, where a stylized photo of a somewhat famous person from history is provided here for you to identify.

Additional clues may be found in the cipher below:

So, who could I be?  That's the mystery!  Go ahead and take a guess and then go enjoy your day.  Check back tomorrow and I'll reveal the answer.  The first correct post will be declared the winner.

If you'd like to make sure that your guess is correct, enter his name into Google Images and this photo will be found on the first pages of the image results.

A towering figure on both sides of the world... Is it Alexandre Gustave Eiffel?

Ah, Brian. I suppose it was too easy today. It is Eiffel. Good job!

Thanks, Nate. It was one of the easier ones.

So how's the big move going? Will you be teaching the same courses, or are you having to prepare all new lecture material?

Brian, thanks for asking. The move is done for now, mostly it involved moving about 15 years worth of accumulated materials into boxes and shuffling it off to the new school. I'm not completely sure everything I'll be teaching, but it looks like more language arts than I've been teaching in the past. The nice thing is that the new staff is incredibly nice and have already made me feel very welcome.

Funny, Gustave looks a little like U. S. Grant.
