3 Musketeers Candy Bar

Have you ever wondered why the 3 Musketeers chocolate bar was given that name?

When it was originally produced there was not just one large bar, but three smaller ones and they were three different flavors: vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.

However, World War II made vanilla and strawberry flavoring harder to come by, so the company started producing chocolate only and eventually went to the one larger bar instead of three individual ones.  The name never changed.

Oh, oh, I am a major candy bar addict. When I was lot younger my dad owned a small store that sold penny candy, way back when it really was a penny.
The 3 musketeers was always one of my favorites. My all time favorite was the Waleeco bar, a chocolate covered coconut bar, mmmmmmm.
Unfortunately it is no longer made. It was a local candy company in the Boston area, back then a lot of candy bars where made locally.
One of Dad's cousins worked for NECCO yet another local company, this gentleman was a family legend for giving the Skybar it's name.

Thanks Nate, now I need a sugar fix.

Have you ever tried a WHITE Reese's? Our son can't eat chocolate & found these made without cocoa. Delicious. We cannot find them at Walmart or in grocery stores, but bigger gas station convenience stores almost always have them.

DAG, like you, I enjoy coconut. One of the things that I think is so sad about modern America is that everything is becoming the same. When I was younger, you could drive across the country and there were still significant differences in speech, food, culture, etc. Now, it seems like everything is pretty much the same. Although I enjoy citrus soda and I did notice that Sun Drop (one of my more favorites) is now being sold out here.
