Person-of-Mystery
Mystery Clue for the Day: Now you see me, now you don't!
Who could I be? That's the mystery! Go ahead and take a guess and then go enjoy your day. Check back tomorrow and I'll reveal the answer. The first correct post will be declared the winner.
DAG wins today! Today's Person-of-Mystery was none other than the devilish Ambrose Bierce - pictured today at the Bohemian Grove. Congratulations, DAG!
Your clue of "Now you see, now you don't" is very misleading. The fact that a 71 year old man running around with Mexican rebels and isn't heard from any more isn't really a disappearing act. I would say he just died and they buried him and end of story.

My "google skills" just don't compare. I am stumped. He looks like a professor or scientist?
Good Job Nate, keeping PJM from yet another victory breakfast.
My wild guess here is
Jean Eugène Robert Houdin
Mary, he is neither a professor nor a scientist. Although in keeping with my theme, he's a native of Ohio.
DAG, thanks! And unfortunately, it is not Houdin.
Ok Nate, another wild guess, Ambrose Bierce.
Wasn't Howard Thurston from Ohio

You should be ashamed of your self.
