I don't think this is the answer, but he sure looks like Bob Keeshan, Capt'n Kangaroo!

Mary, even though this man is wearing the uniform of a Captain, it is not Bob Keeshan. Zerelda, I can't say if this is the fellow who courted your sister, but either way you'd need a name to win.

Could this be Abner Doubleday?

It looked like a Confederate uniform to me, but I couldn't find a look a like.
You were very fast on Edith Roosevelt today Nate!
Amazing.

DAG, it is not Abner Doubleday. If it helps, the Person-of-Mystery was the first person in his state to take a driver's test Ford's Model T.

I'm thinking a nice Father's Day breakfast is sounding pretty good at this point!

How about one last wild guess,
Barney Oldfield

My guess is that is a very young Robert E. Lee.

Could that be Harvey Firestone?

DAG, I was tempted to respond with, "Who did you think this was, Barney Oldfield?" Merideth, I'm sure PJM will enjoy your guess.

Pretty clever to use PJM as a mystery person. You is one clever boy. A really great post. Thanks for the smile.

Where did you ever find that photograph of PJM?

Mary, PJM is older than he seems. I think that's one of the reasons he's so passionate about the War of Northern Aggression. I'm just kidding, I photoshopped a photo of his face onto an old portrait.
