Remembrance Day
Today, I'm back in the attic looking through photo albums. It's November 1, which means that my grandmother died 13 years ago today, so in her honor, I'm posting a photo of her. Here she is with my grandfather and their eldest son, my Uncle Dave.
Her name was Marymac, but many people called her "Honey" because she was so sweet. She really was one of the sweetest, most loving people I have ever known. Her husband, Dick, was a naval officer and served in World War II and Korea. He died of a heart attack when he was only 46 and she raised their four boys alone - I never knew him.
My Uncle Dave is a really swell fellow. He was a professor of history at Wheaton College in Illinois, but just retired last year. When I think of the people in this photo, I have nothing but good memories - lots of laughter, eating together, and love.

What a lovely family picture - thanks for sharing your family, Nate.
She looks like a lovely lady. A pity her husband died so young.
Absolutely lovely photo and tribute.
